March 2012

We're less than four months from our anticipated wedding date. Rey is preparing for his interview and medical exam for his visa and I'm looking for fabric for dresses for Anna and me. This is proving to be more difficult than I imagined it would be. Purple and Gold are not popular colors right now it seems, but I know they are the colors I want. I came close yesterday to finding what I want.

We are enjoying warmer weather, especially Bella. She'll spend hours outside watching the neighborhood and barking to make sure everyone knows she can see them.

Anna experienced some challenges in February and then was sick for a week. She's doing much better now and we are both grateful that she is back at school. We also seem to be gaining better control of her seizures with the addition of a new medications for them.

I am continuing with school, planning the wedding and working three jobs. I'm still at the college for grounds keeping and I am putting more effort into my candle business. I'm also working as a Personal Assistant. I truly enjoy the new jog. Last night my car decided to rebel and I'm grateful for the knowledgeable individual who will be looking at it later today. I hope he's able to get it working properly and inexpensively today.

January 2012

It has been five months since I received notice the USCIS (aka Immigration) that they had received my petition for Rey's K-1 Visa. To be honest, I was so focused on school and the adoption that the wait didn't really start to get me until recently. I just keep reminding myself that there is still time.

In the meantime, I continue to work on making our home more comfortable, being the best mom I can be and doing well at school and at work. I'm taking my second accounting class and retaking business statistics. I think I'm understanding a little more now than before. I was disappointed to learn last week that I won't be able to take the summer off from school as I originally had planned to do. I have to take calculus this summer or retake the math placement exam. It will all work out, I'm sure.

Meanwhile Rey and I have set a tentative date for our wedding. We are hoping to wed on 13 July 2012, combining our favorite numbers to come up with the date. I'm working on the wedding plans and discarding some weight while waiting for my "gwapo" husband-to-be to receive his K-1 Visa and arrive in the US. I miss him, but even from afar he is a support to me. I am blessed.

Adoption

On 22 December 2011, I finalized my adoption of Anna. It was a great, but busy, day. We had a party after the hearing to celebrate with many friends and some family attending the hearing, the party or both. It was definitely the best Christmas gift for me since the birth of Jesus Christ.
